Director’s Statement: Marta García, Sol Infante

Karina is a woman from the margins, with an explosive willpower and tenacity that make her who she is. Supportive, combative, irreverent, with a human dimension that expands wherever she goes. Her life challenges us as women, as feminists, as activists, as people.

This patriarchal and capitalist system tells us how we deserve to live, think and especially consume, particularly in the most economically and socioculturally vulnerable sectors. The system’s logic establishes that earning money is worthy (in any exploitative condition) as long as that workforce does not come from our vaginas. And all the people who are not within the morally accepted dignity, do not deserve to claim their rights: they do not have them.

Karina walks a daily path in defense of her rights, those she is entitled to as a citizen and as a worker, despite the bad reputation. This is an invitation to walk that journey with her.
